How to Bulletproof Yourself Against Common Weight Loss Barriers

In today’s email, I’m going to help you steer clear of the four most common reasons why people fail to achieve their results.

I’m going to show you how to avoid each of these obstacles while providing a solution for obstacles so you never feel stuck again.

Here are the 5 reasons why most people fail to achieve their results

1) Always Aiming for Perfection

I’m just gonna say this right now… FUCK PERFECTION

So many people quit on a program because they miss a workout or over go over their calories once and think, “well… I ruin it.”

That couldn’t be furthest from the truth. I want to tell you that every day will not be perfect and that’s ok. There will be days you cannot eat as well as you want due to one of life’s curveballs. There will also be days when you don’t workout as hard as you want to.

Don’t worry and definitely don’t quit when you find yourself experiencing these days.

Solution: Allow yourself to be human and be kind to yourself

In these situations, you have to give yourself permission to “fail,” yet get back on track fast.

A healthy diet doesn’t mean eating “clean” all the time. A healthy diet still makes room for Pizza, beer, and Doritos from time to time.

The major key isn’t to abandon the plan when you have an off-plan meal.

Don’t worry and definitely don’t quit.

Instead of dwelling on your mistakes, clear your mind and get right back on your plan as soon as possible.

Every day, every meal, every workout is an opportunity to get a little bit better. Instead of beating yourself up, use this as an opportunity to better yourself.

2) Picking a Plan that’s destined to Fail

Here’s the honest truth about diets; there a ton of diets that will work. There is no one size fits all approach when it comes to selecting the “best” diet.

Solution: What matters most is that your diet works FOR YOU.

How do you know if you find the right diet for you?

You’ll know this is the right diet for you if you can stick with it consistently for several weeks and months.

So, when I said a plan is destined to fail I’m not saying that other plans are inherently flawed. Instead, I’m saying is the most successful plan that is realistic for YOUR LIFE.

So, if you love pasta, then going on an extremely low carb diet (aka the keto diet) is going to be a bad idea for you. Same thing if you are a father/mother of 4 kids with a goal of working out 1 hour per day for 6 days per week. Most folks in that situation will not be able to sustain it long term.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be working together to build a diet that’s practical for your own life no matter the situation.

3) Failure to Take the Necessary Action

Having a realistic, sustainable plan is important, yet taking daily action towards your goal trumps everything else. The problem is that people don’t start with the end in mind. It’s absolutely wonderful that you lost 10 pounds, yet if you stop doing all the things that helped you dropped the weight, it’s going to come back.

Sounds familiar?

The Solution: Build Long-Lasting Habits

Having a realistic plan is an important aspect of achieving your goals, yet taking action on that plan is even more important. This is where the importance of habits comes in.

The problem is most people start with the end in mind, yet forget to focus on how they’ll achieve their goals. When it comes to creating fitness goals, it’s always better to frame y our goals around your behavior rather than the outcomes.

However, what exactly does this mean?

Let’s clarify this: Outcome-based goals focus on the end result, like losing 20 pounds, but don’t account for what happens between now and then. Behavior-based goals are centered on the actions you take, like working out 3 times a week.

By focusing on behavioral goals (i.e working out 3 times a week), this will be a game-changer to help you stay true to your fitness goals, even when life throws you a curveball.

4) No Accountability

What exactly is accountability? Simply put, accountability is a way to ensure you do what you say you’re going to do. When people want to make a change, a lot of people start off strong. However, a few weeks in and they are struggling to maintain their positive momentum.

They skip their workout. Then another. And another. Soon, they stop cooking their meals at home and just start ordering fast food

Before you know it, they are completely off plan. This happens because there is no one to hold them accountable for their goals.

Solution: Create a system to keep you on track.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “if you're assessing, you’re guessing?”

Just like achieving success in literally anywhere else in life, results are never achieved by doing things at random.

You need a system to hold you accountable and collect all the data necessary to gauge your progress.

This is extremely true when it comes to coaching. One thing my online coaching services does differently when compared to others is collecting tons of data so we can make the most intelligent decisions when it comes to your health.

  • Weekly Check In’s

  • Constant Email Communications throughout the week

  • Daily Training logs to gauge your performance

  • Accountability Tracker.

Hopefully, everything makes sense.

If you have questions about ANYTHING, let me know and I’ll get back to you.
